Disappointing - stopped working after 1 day
I have 14 spypoint Micro LTE cameras and was excited to try the Flex-S for the extended battery and video capability. I installed the camera with brand new batteries, charged the internal battery for 12 hours per the manual. I installed this camera in the same location I had a Micro LTE, the cellular signal is about 50% in the location. I received a video the first night I installed the camera and nothing since. THe camera hasn't checked back in and it 3 hours away, so it would be a 6 hour round trip to reset and customer service won't assist if camera isn't in hand. Very disappointed and appears I'm not the only one with this issue. Would not recommend the Flex S at this point.

Do not buy
For the record, I have 10 G-36s that seem to be working well for the most part. However, I purchased 2 of the flex-s and neither worked properly. They would both last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 days before going silent on me regardless of camera settings. Sometimes they’d still take photos but not communicate, and other times they’d completely stop working and would need to be turned off and restarted. The solar panel will also not even charge the built in battery, and had fully drained both the lit-22 battery and solar battery in 48 hours and only took a few videos.
These are completely unreliable and I returned them both. I assume there’s some firmware issues going on.

Very disappointed
Was excited when this came out and was first sale at Bass Pro when they arrived. I tried it for first week at home and battery died in a week so recharged and headed for woods. I placed camera in direct sun spot with new batteries in camera. Three days with sun all days and 45 pictures both solar battery and new Duracell down to 8% and camera shut down. I have 2 link micro S LTE and they are awesome 100% battery Evan after7 months in woods. I have one of the SPLB-22 panels and they are the answer, 4 mounths in woods with not direct sun and never below 83% sending 100s pictures.

Flex-S unreliable
I bought three flex s cameras in October. Two of them need to be cycled on and off every few days. They would just stop working with plenty of power available. I use the chat feature to get technical support There is no way for them to call you back so you have to keep your phone in your hand making sure your screen doesn’t go to sleep otherwise you’ll be kicked out of your chat. Because it’s hunting season they are very busy. I was finally able to reach someone a couple days ago. She was not able to resolve my problem, but did collect the camera logs. She assured me someone would be reaching out to me within 24 to 48 hours. It’s past that point and no one has contacted me.

BEST YET!
I have been using Spypoint cameras for years now and have always had great luck with them! Each and every year they are always coming out with something new and better and I have begun to look forward to the new yearly releases! The FLEX-S is my new favorite by far! not only does it provide the excellent features as the new FLEX G-36 with not only the new integrated SOLAR PANEL, but also upgraded connectivity, a BEEFIER antenna, extremely friendly aspects, and the ALL NEW INSTANT MODE! Set your camera to INSTANT MODE and press the button in the app to have your camera instantly take a picture on command and transmit it to your app within less than a minute depending on your phone's service! ******

Great customer service on the first 2 replacements
I bought the FLEX-S and the first one had issues and they very quickly sent me a replacement. Same issues with that one and I was willing to try once more. But it turns out they don't give a refund on cameras after the first 30 days of the initial purchase.
So if you have any issues, don't troubleshoot get a refund right away.

Very Disappointed
I purchased 2 of these cameras, but due to the issues with the first camera, I returned both. The one I did use worked for a short time, then quit sending pictures. A replacement was sent to me and it too failed after just a few pictures being taken. The trouble shooting process was very disappointing, often taking a very long time to get through. Each time I was required to hike into the camera. I have switched companies and have had great success with their cameras in the exact location I had the SpyPoint. Now I have had to call in twice to get CC charges reversed because my card is getting charged for subscriptions to cameras I do not have.

Worst camera in their inventory
I ordered this camera the second they went on sale. Since then, I have had to send this camera back and revive another one which had the same problem. The solar panel does not charge the internal batteries at all, and they only last 3 days at most. the backup batteries are the only way to use this camera. When it rains water will kill this camera when it gets cold your batteries will die this camera is crap and i love my spy point cameras

Bonjour!

Does this camera have GPS tracking if its stolen?
Hello BuckRuckers, The camera comes equipped with an internal GPS system that offers highly accurate location tracking on your in-app MAP feature. To ensure the latest location information, the camera automatically updates once a day, and it will also refresh during any power cycle or upon your request through an in-app command. It's important to note that the GPS functionality operates seamlessly while the camera is turned on, providing real-time location data on the integrated map. However, if the unit is turned off, the GPS functionality cannot operate as cellular communication is interrupted when the camera is powered down. Thank you for your question. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us at: https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat. Have a good day.

Is any model capable of taking a picture on command?? (To check up on a property if there is no movement) Also, can it be turned off and on remotely?
Hello Russel, Currently, the FLEX-S is the only camera in our lineup that supports on-demand requests, allowing users to capture images on command. This option's functionality is specific to this model, and the ability to remotely turn off or on our camera models is not currently available for any of our models. Thank you for reaching out with your question. Have a great day.

Can you tell me if this camera/app can do the following? - Take a picture at pre-set daily intervals - Record when motion activated - Allow me to live stream (see what is happening in real time) Thanks! Ryan
Hello, RC Cola, Thank you for this question. Our units do not do live streaming. For the video mode, it is important to select this mode from the settings of the application to which your unit is linked. As all capture is triggered by movement, the camera will launch the video once the detection is done. If you wish to switch to photos, then after you modify the parameters, the camera will take images upon detection.
You can control the distance to capture them at an interval of your choice under the delay option, and the capture will follow this desired rhythm. On the other hand, this model is precisely equipped with a new configuration called Instant Mode and On Demand Requests, which consists of commands for a one-time photo or video capture from the camera remotely. If you have any questions or need assistance with your camera, we are here: https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat. Please do not hesitate to contact our team. Have a good day.

Is LIT-22 included with camera or sold separately
Hello Glassguy, Thank you for this question and your interest in our products and services. The LIT-22 battery is sold separately from the camera. Can you add an external battery to the Flex-s that the solar panel will charge?
Hello Mklimko, Yes, it is entirely possible to use it along with an 8-AA lithium battery backup or rechargeable lithium battery pack (LIT-22). The solar panel charges its internal battery and not the external battery; its internal battery is the primary power source for the camera. If it depletes to a certain level, the camera will toggle over to the backup battery and use that as a power source until the internal battery has been recharged to a safe charge level. Thank you for this question. Have a great day.

Does the flex have a internal temperature sensor?
Hello, and thank you for this question. Like all the models offered, the camera has a movement and temperature change sensor connected to its detection lens, which, once triggered, allows it to take its captures. In the signature of the photos received, this information is provided with the capture date and time, as well as the status that your unit sends you on a daily basis. It tells you the temperature detected. Have a good day.

If i have an external battery connected to it, what is the hierarchy of the battery consumption? Im assuming, external, then solar and internal?
Hello Berns, When this model is used with an external battery, the camera will follow the following diagram: The solar panel charges the internal battery, which is the main power source for the camera. If the internal battery depletes to a certain level, the camera will switch to the backup battery and use it as a power source until the internal battery has been recharged to a safe charge level. Thank you for this question. Have a nice day.

The solar panel charges the internal battery, which is the primary power source for the camera. What temperature is it rated for
Hello Kez85, All our cameras and products have been tested and have been approved for operating in temperatures ranging from -30 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. This equates to -22 degrees Fahrenheit and 122 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. Thank you for your question. Have a nice day.

Is there a way you can have the camera send you a picture whenever you want ? For instance you push a button in the app and it sends you a picture of what’s in front of the camera at that moment. Or is there a setting to send you a picture every 3 hours
Hello Lbott, The application gives you the possibility of controlling the number of daily image transfers from your camera. From the transfer frequency option, however, you cannot trigger the camera remotely to take an image; the camera will do its capture in reaction to movement in its detection zone and will send it to your app according to the frequency you have chosen. It is possible to opt for a transfer at each detection, and what the camera captures will be sent immediately to your app. Thank you, and have a good day.

Does these cameras work with AT&T phone service?
Hello, BoBo Lu198, Thank you for this question. This model connects to most national cellular service provider networks. It comes with a preactive SIM card integrated into the unit and takes the signal from the tower closest to its location area and the most widespread network. Be sure to check which network is most widespread where you plan to use it. Thank you and have a good day.

Do the cellular cameras still take pics in an area where there is no cell service and store them in SD card? I have 3 link micro so Ltd cams just wondering if I can put them in no cell service areas? Thank you
Hello Anto, Yes, this is entirely possible. The camera will continue to work, taking its captures and saving your images on its card. However, to have access to these images, it will be necessary to recover them manually from the SD card. Just as if you want to configure the options of your camera, this remains to be done from the application, and the camera will require a cellular signal to receive the settings and apply them. Thank you and have a good day.

My camera is not taking pics and the battery level is stuck at 48%. Does that mean it has powered off on its own?
Hello Frungee, The units cannot turn off automatically; however, they may stop transmitting if they encounter signal interruptions or reach the limit of their plan, not their battery level. Does this still persist? Have you had the assistance of our agents regarding this? If you have any questions or need assistance, Please let us know at: https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat. Thank you, Have a good day.

For the Flex cameras with dual sims, how does the camera determine which network to use? Where I use it we have coverage by both ATT and Verizon, but I find Verizon is more reliable even if ATT tower is closer and sometimes has a stronger signal.
Hello GaryCXYZ, Thank you for this very good question. The camera is indeed equipped with a preactive SIM card and integrated into the unit, so upon activation in the account, it is ready for use and automatically connects to the most available network, the most reliable, and the closest cellular broadcast tower. However, if, where you wish to use it, you have a particular network that is more optimal than others, upon acquisition, a complete description is displayed in the details of the products. This allows you to check this information and opt for the compatible unit for your use. Thank you, and have a good day.

Hello Beaste, The solar panel only recharges the built-in lithium-ion battery; the camera can also use 8 AA batteries or a plug-in external power supply. The Lit-22 battery can be recharged separately from the camera with the supplied power cable. Thank you and have a great day.

Is it possible to use the camera at temperatures as low as - 35 deg. C / -31 deg. F? Will the camera be permanently damaged if the temperature gets too low?
Hello Rasmus All our cameras and products have been tested and have been approved for operating in temperatures ranging from -30 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. This equates to -22 degrees Fahrenheit and 122 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. However, make sure you have lithium batteries for your unit, which have better resistance and a longer lifespan in these conditions. Thank you for your question, and have a wonderful day.

Is there a way to set how long of a delay between photos so that you can track movement?
Hello MrDan, Yes, it is absolutely possible. The app settings have this option called motion delay that you find in the section named image capture in the settings. You can set the time between each detection before the camera takes the next photo. The detection sensor will be paused for a set period of time after the last image capture. Shorter delays are great for trails where you need to capture fast-moving targets; longer delays are better for food plots where the same animals may trigger the motion sensor multiple times. Thank you for your question. Have a good day.

What do I need to buy other than the camera? Batteries? Sd card?
Hello Tyler, The camera comes with its SIM card and strap, but you will need an SD card, which is necessary, and depending on your use and the conditions of its installation, if you need a signal booster in case you don't have enough network coverage, for example, it is possible to equip it with the LONG RANGE CELLULAR ANTENNA (CA-01); if you want to get even more time between camera visits, you can also opt for the RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY PACK LIT-22 to extend the battery life; if you are located far from the camera to change the batteries; on the security side, if its installation area Whether on public ground or just a spot prone to trespassers, security is a major concern, you have the choice of installing it with the CABLE LOCK CLM-6FT, so these accessories will depend on your needs and your use of the camera. Thank you for this question. Have a good day.

Hey, BNLingle, The visibility of the battery level of the solar panel is available in the application; once you are connected, select the camera concerned, and from the status tab, under the general information section, you have the level of the solar-powered battery, and the battery with the rest of the signal information, last communication, temperature, etc. Thank you for your question. I’ve had my flex s charging internal battery for more than 12 hours and the red status light is still on and the battery level is flashing just one bar. Should it be showing fully charged at this point?
Hello Soertel1,Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. The camera showing 1 bar with a RED status LED (low/empty battery) is caused by a firmware issue, but the camera should work properly. We advise you to turn the camera off first and make sure the battery is fully charged.
and do a long format to the SD card and update the camera firmware again. Once you turn the camera back on, the status LED will be blinking green, the battery level LED will be displayed, and the signal LEDs will all blink together until a signal is found. The LEDs corresponding to the signal strength will then be solid green, and the MicroSD LED will also be solid green. Do I need to use other batteries with flex-s and why would the AA BATTERIES go to zero if solar at 100
Hey Foxy Thank you for this question. With this model, Flex S The solar panel charges the internal battery, which is the primary power source for the camera. If the internal battery depletes to a certain level, the camera will toggle over to the backup battery and use that as a power source until the internal battery has been recharged to a safe charge level. This maximizes the longevity of both the primary and backup battery systems. If, however, you are still having trouble at this level, we recommend that you verify that the new batteries definitely have a full charge. and Check that all the batteries are placed correctly in the camera. Sometimes one or two can be in the wrong polarity, and this affects the camera's functioning. If the camera is communicating with the Spypoint App, check what type of battery is selected. If the wrong type is selected, change the selection to the correct power source. Have a good day.

Can you run an external solar panel/pack combo into the 12 volt port?
Hello Fitter48093, Thank you for your question.
Any of our cameras can be used in combination with the solar panel, provided it is plugged into the 12V battery.
Note that the Spypoint Solar Panel was made to work only with a 12V external battery.
The 12V port is made to provide power for the camera, whereas solar power can’t generate that 12V of power. The solar panel provides a trickle charge for the 12V battery due to the limitations of its amp and voltage.

Does this camera run 24 hr or can I control the time of day it operates?
You can set the amount of times it transmits data, set a sync time, set up time lapse or turn the cell function off completely but as far as I can see there is no way to totally power on/off remotely.
