Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great in remote area. I have been using cellular cameras that require a monthly subscription for data plans. Unfortunately, only one carrier is possible and access is spotty, depending on reception, requiring elevated direction antennas is some places. The Flex-G36 picks the best carrier and has worked very reliability for over a month. My only problem so far is that the movement sensitivity setting does not appear to do anything. I want to capture deer, people, and vehicles. But on the lowest sensitivity setting, squirels >10 feet away trigger the camera. This super sensitivity makes it hard to stay below 100 photos on the free plan.

One worked for a month and then temperature read 255 Degrees and wouldn't send pictures, had to update the firmware and got it working again. Second one did the same thing and now will sporadically send pictures as i am testing and lighting up like a christmas tree. Disappointed as i had bought these to not make as many trips an hour away to check sd cards, don't recommend if you want something that just works out of the box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever. Purchased 6 of these cameras. 1 of them worked fine in the beginning. Sometimes they would send photos sometimes they wouldn’t. One of them wouldn’t even connect to the app to adjust the settings. I set up another camera above 2 of them and got all the photos they never sent and decided to return them. I’m out money for the data plans I purchased but I returned all 6 and went with a different brand. 10/10 would not recommend. The website won’t even work properly so I can enter all this information properly for the review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the cell phone coverage! I don't use the camera for its intended hunting purpose. I purchased the camera to monitor feral hog activity and visitors on my property. It has been very useful for working with my hog trapper. It's also interesting to all the critters that live out in the country. It takes good photos for my purposes. I like that I can set how often to send photos, how long in between photos, resolution, etc. so I can balance information and battery life. Customer service has also been really good when I have had to deal with them. Overall, I am very happy with this camera. Enough so that I have purchased 2 more of them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Bought this hoping to have a good trail cam....... so much for that thought ! Placed this camera and seen the Deer eating directly in front of camera and no pictures. I have had about 50 pictures come across the app, but yet the SD card has 450 pictures. All of the pics are of humans, no Deer. So you pay $120.00 for the unlimited pictures and then you never get the pictures. What pictures the cam did take are of very poor quality. Very upset and I will never purchase SPYPOINT products again.

There an awful product and there customer support is even worse. i use the sd card they suggest and lithium batteries all the stuff recommended and it don't work. i brought one camera in from the field 4 times to get it fixed and it just gets worse. the other camera is a 600 km round trip away and only works now and then. be warned the web page states they can do remote firmware updates but they can not. when i did the manual update the camera stopped working all together. with the price of the 2 camera and the photo plan and insiders club im out over $600 when i asked for a refund i was told no they would send another camera to try. sounds like another camera with the same issues

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera I bought this last week to replace my Link Dark . This camera is tops. Great daytime pictures and night time pictures. Great price. Takes better pics than my Link Dark did and Link Dark cost 3 times more than Flex G36. I highly recommend. The only problem I have is I use a 12v battery and my friendly raccoons pull on battery cord and stop transmitting pics. Maybe needs some type of cover or lock over power cord.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good camera but one glitch I bought this camera a month ago. I was excited because it’s a new model and wanted to try it out. The camera works perfectly except if you use an external 12 V battery. The camera will not recognize the external battery of any kind or any brand. However, the battery life will show if using the internal AAs, I think spy point is working on it. Sad though they release this model without thoroughly testing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME I’ve had about these cameras (6) for about 1 year now and they have had their times but they’re nothing but junk to me. I loved receiving photos straight to my phone and seeing what I had to hunt, but having to replace the batteries every week is not fun to me. When it comes to paying for the photo service, it’s a huge headache to me. I repeatedly tried to pay for the service on the site and it would a.) not let me put it in my cart or b.) not let me to purchase the service because “something went wrong”. I went to customer support for help, but even they couldn’t get it through and asked me if I had money on my card to purchase it. I’ve invested $600 into cameras (6) (excluding the photo plan) and only $200 of the cameras work (2). Biggest waste of my money and time to make it work, but I’ve had enough. Nothing but bad things. To top it off, I had a new camera straight from the box and it wouldn’t connect to any service whatsoever. I even left it on for a week and still no connection. It was a big disappointment that I spent $150 on a camera for only it to not work at all. 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend.

I love the dual sim so I no longer have to decide if Verizon or nationwide has better signal where I’m placing the camera. I also like the improved battery life. Paired with a lit-22 rechargeable battery from spypoint I get tons of pictures and videos without having to go back to the camera and change batteries. This saves me tons of time and has helped reduce spooking game out into the field. Also the 100’ detection is another great feature to be able to capture more game at further distances in hard woods and open fields.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good trail cam for the buck I bought two of these cameras a couple of weeks ago to view what goes through our property at night. We captured a bear on video near our chicken coop, lots of deer, bobcat and skunk. We are very happy with the clarity of the daytime photos and the night time photos are OK. We live out in the woods, so we like to see what goes on all around us. I purchased two other trail cams a couple of years ago and the battery life was poor, not a cellular based, so I had to remove the SD card in order to download video and photos on a daily basis. It was a real pain! I highly recommend this product. So far, the battery life seems good. I may try to adapt the cams to run off 12V instead of 8AA batteries. Time will tell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My First Trail Camera This is my first experience with a trail camera so I don't have a frame of reference with other similar products. The set up was pretty easy with only minor confusion on my part about Format and how long it takes to boot up. Minor issue. The daytime pictures are excellent and very sharp. The night vision is good but not as sharp as daytime photos. Some are a bit blurry but what's in the photo is identifiable. The photos are a bit smaller than I was expecting. Not sure if there is a way to improve this in settings. The camera itself seems rugged and quality construction. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this camera and would buy another SpyPoint product without hesitation. Might go for the S model.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No custom schedule option I have five link micro cameras which allow you to set a custom schedule so that your camera is not taking pictures at certain times. This is an essential feature that is very handy when the daytime sun can cause your camera to take picture after picture. The only way I can prevent it from taking picture after picture during the sunny midday hours is to set the delay longer, which I don't like having it too long during the hours I would like it to take pictures. When the drop down is selected for the operation mode, standard is the only option given even though the information icon explains the other modes that should be there when you click on it. The camera also takes a picture every day at the daily sync time. I have a friend that bought a new flex-s and that camera does not allow a custom schedule either. I am actually amazed that no one else has complained about this issue.

Night pics are good but daytime pictures are a little lacking unless the animal Is right in front of the camera. I end up with a lot of pictures of animals too pixelated and blurred to tell what it is. I bought 4 cameras and the App alerts when there’s movement and new pics. It even alerts on my Apple Watch, popping up a closeup of the pictured animal on my watch. Also, thousands of pictures in 3 months and the batteries are still at 96%. Just wish it took better day pics.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will NOT buy again We have had nothing but issues with our cameras. Every single time we get them placed somewhere they throw error messages for SD cards. We have changed Micro SD cards (correctly) multiple times and despite telling this to customer service, that is the only "solution" they seem to ever give. No offer to replace the camera, etc even after mutiple conversations with them. Pointless to have cell cameras you have to constantly take down. Will not ever buy a spypoint product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptionally clear pictures, Easy to use This is my second Flex G-36 camera. The clarity of the photos is stellar. Not only are the daytime pics super clear, the nighttime photos are excellent as well. It is super nice to receive photos on my phone through the Spypoint app, and not have to go physically check the camera and disturb all the animals there while doing so. It saves me a lot of time. For greatly extended battery life, I recommend pairing a 12-volt battery pack or solar panel with this camera. For those shopping for a cellular trail camera, this is an excellent choice. I plan on buying even more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from General review of spypoint I have had 4 or 5 different spypoint cameras, the reason for that is because they have been replacing them under warranty because they have all had various issues ranging from connectivity to water damage, which I will say spypoint has been very good about replacing the defective products. This time the camera actually lasted long enough to be out of warranty when it stopped connecting to the network so I am happy to say I will finally be moving on from spypoint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy setup but troubles down the road. I've owned this about a month. I set it up in my yard. Startup was easy and flawless. Pictures look great. I upgraded to the unlimited plan after just a few days, but one of the reasons I bought this was free pics. Downsides, I shut off the camera because working in the yard, didn't come back on easily when I switched back on, realized next day it wasn't working. 3 times I have had it tell me that suddenly my SD card wasn't working, and I had to go reseat SDcard. Good thing this isn't too far away, if this was miles into the forest, I would be so mad. I got pics of 5 deer at my plot at 7am, but later I was having to reseat SD card. If I move this to another tree for a better angle, I now expect to have to reseat battery and SDcard, and I get it working, but maybe just a few hours later it's saying battery is dead, or SDcard is 0.0gb.

Over the years, I’ve had several issues with SPYPOINT cameras, particularly with their customer service, which has been inconsistent. The representatives often seem undertrained, leading to frustration, though things eventually get resolved. While photo transmission is fast and easy, the free 50 photos are used up quickly. Since I use many of these cameras, I opt for the annual plan, which provides 250 photos per camera each month. Unfortunately, more than half of the photos are often just shadows or empty shots. Despite these challenges, I’ve invested in these cameras, and they do work, but be aware that you might encounter some issues along the way.

Still didn't work. They refunded me the prorated amount of my subscription, but said the camera was backordered. Nothing they could do, so i'm out the cost of the camera. I offered for them to supply a different model and they said no, they could not do that. Unbelievable

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality Photos and Videos I have been using the camera (Flax G-36) for about 1 month now with their premium data plan. This is my first spypoint camera. This is also my first cellular cam and that aspect has been a good experience. However, I have been really dissappointed with the quality of the photos and videos even when I pull the SD card and look at them directly from the card. The cellular pictures that come through on the app are lower quality previews but even viewing on a computer, they are terrible quality. The videos are some of the worst I have ever seen on a trail cam, very jumpy, pixelated, and the colorations are off. I went back to a 6 year old browning camera to record videos because the spypoint ones are so bad. I don't know if this is the same for all of spypoint's cameras, but I would not waste my money on this again. I thought this was one of SpyPoint's better quality cameras, but apparently not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Photos! I've purchased 3 Flex g-36 cameras and love them all, right out of the box they are so easy to use. Read the directions and you are golden. I bought an extended antenna also, thinking I might need it with the camera down in a swamp but it has worked so far without. I wish there was the option to have 2 people to be on the account and receive thephotos. My husband and I have several cameras, but you have to share the photos and it doesn't give him all the info about it, kind of a pain, but maybe Spypoint can address this issue.

I have a few cameras that are being used for different purposes. One monitoring property not near home, one keeping an eye on activity at my food plot and now this one to keep an eye on my garden. Yes, I said my garden! The garden is not in direct view from my house, so I set the camera up to alert me when that dang groundhog is trying to sneak in so I can quickly get out there to chase him off (and it is working great). Not only was it easy to set up and taking great clear photos, but I love that I can easily switch between taking photos or videos right from the app on my phone. This is a great camera and I will likely be picking up another one soon!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest and best camera I bought a double pack of these cameras and st them up about 10 days ago. The set up process was very easy to do. It was done in no time at as ll. The instructions a very easy to follow. The in field set up was just as easy. It wasn’t time consuming or complicated at all. Once the set up was complete, I was getting test pictures within minutes. The actual deer pictures I was receiving later on that night was very clear and easy to see. I am completely satisfied with SPYPOINT cameras and I am going to purchase a couple more.

Unfortunately that's not where I hunt deer. I've tried moving them to calmer mother nature spots, still suck. Defeats the purpose of a TRAIL cam. There is better ones out there. DONT BUY.

I now have four of the flex -g 36 and I join the Spypoint Insiders Club for $99.00 which gives me 250 pictures per month for each Camera which is a great deal. that’s a lot better than paying $10 per month for the two cameras I have that are a different brand that I am now using without the subscription just as a non-cellular Camera. I like the idea that If there’s a storm and it’s real windy, I can shut the cameras off through the app so they’re not taking A lot of pictures with nothing in then And start the camera up the next day when it checks in at My set time of 7 AM. they take great pictures. I also like that they can be updated through the app And the cameras don’t have to be taken down and hooked up to computer to update. I’m well pleased with the campers.

Also the cameras stop working a few days before you renew the service. They do not work well I have 4 of them and only one works consistently. I am vary disappointed in SPYPOINT and the service they provide the customer.

I returned both of mine after trying for a week to get assistance. They have no repair center the Chat guy said and my camera stopped taking pics.

How weather-resistant is the Spypointt G-36? What outdoor temp is too cold (or too hot) for the device? Does it need to be sheltered from snow/rain/ice? Thank you

Can you disable motion triggering while taking timelapse photos? I would like it to take pictures at regular intervals but not when motion is detected.

What happens if someone steals my camera

First, do not delete the camera from your account—keep it visible in your app. Take a screenshot or write down the status page for the stolen camera, including the SIM card number and activation code. Save any pictures the camera has sent, as they may help identify the thief. Additionally, monitor your app daily to check if the camera has disappeared from your account. If it does, please contact your local authorities to file a theft report. If your camera has GPS capability and is still visible in the app, you may be able to provide new GPS coordinates to the authorities. However, if the camera does not have GPS or is no longer syncing, we are unable to locate it. For legal inquiries, the authorities can contact us directly, and they will need to send legal documents for any further information. You can also transfer your subscription to another camera. If you need assistance with that or if you have an active photo transmission plan on the stolen camera, please reach out to our customer support team to cancel the plan.
