Not so happy right now
I bought this just before Xmas as a gift. It worked for a week, and the wife was excited. Then the camera said my SD card failed. I tested in the PC and it worked fine. I formatted and reinstalled but it would not accept it. I purchased a new card and installed. It took one photo that night and sent me a failed card message. I bought another card and installed and it would no longer take photos and the temperature said 255°F. lol I reformatted on the PC and reinstalled the card. No go. Contacted customer service and they said send it back under warranty, but we don't have any more G36 cameras. smh
They gave me a "flex" and 15 spypoint bucks. lol

For Flex and Flex-G36
I have been using the Flex camera for over a year now with fantastic results on a Missouri wooded property in Iron County. I just started using the Flex-36 camera within the last month. Both cameras have provided excellent results. See for yourself in the attached photos. I did get a bit complacent about the photos I was receiving until I showed them to some of my family members. They were amazed with the stills and the videos/audio. Guess I just pushed beyond reasonable expectations. Great cameras though. I have ten in use.

Junk save your money
I bought two of these. They both worked for maybe a month. Now one camera reads 255 degrees farenheight and doesn't take pictures. My other camera keeps getting SD chip errors. I purchased a class 10 SD as recommended. Very disappointing. Don't be me and waste money on these cameras.

Battery Eating Junk
bought to put out at our shop for a security camera. worked well for about 18 hours and then stopped sending pictures. at the 36 hour mark the batteries were at 15%. constantly from when it stopped sending pictures it started sending messages about improper SD card (which doesn't make since for a cellular camera) and the temperature reads 255 degrees. when moved from the shop to the house nothing changed. all shows good as far as the lights but will not communicate. had buddies that ranted and raved about how great these cameras were. as far as im concerned it is worth the crap plastic its made of.

Waste of Money and Time
I bought 2 of these cameras for the hunting season in October they have been nothing but problems. I would get them all set up verify they worked and transmitted photos just to take them out into the woods and have them work somewhere between 1-3 weeks then stop sending photos. Since then Ive been sent 4 or 5 Replacement cameras (ive lost count at this point) all having various issues and needing be pulled out of the woods and troubleshoot with spypoint support and they determined that they would send a replacement. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from these cameras. Id like a full refund on both cameras but of course its past the time where they will offer this. Truly disappointed

Trash. Buy something else.
Bought 2 of these to replace 5 year old cameras and enjoy HD pictures. Both worked for about a month, then stopped taking pictures around the same time. Just drained batteries and sent SD Card errors. Tried 3 different name-brand cards and reloaded firmware multiple times to no avail. Spent 4 HOURS on the line with tech support, went through all steps again to no avail. Spypoint sent me 2 replacement cameras. These worked great - for a month. Same exact problem set. I'm not going through it again. $130 in the trash.

Solid performer
I have had this out for a few weeks now and I have to say you aren't going to miss much with this camera. Even on the lowest sensor setting it's still picking off squirrels at 20 yards.
Improved picture and video with sounds. Improved antenna mount. And battery consumption is 25-50%better than the original Flex. So far I have to say not a bad camera at all. No won't lie, I am not fond of the mounting bracket location I prayed they would fix that. And how it screws in but it is what it is. The camera so far has worked great very happy with it.

Questions

Is the flex36 compatible with a HME 12-Volt Trail/Game Camera Battery With Solar Charger? Thanks
Hello; Thank you for your question. The FLEX G-36 does come with a 12V port, and while it is compatible with our SPLB-22 Solar Power Bank, we advise caution when using non-approved accessories, as they may affect the camera’s performance or void its warranty. Third-party products could have different specifications, so we recommend carefully checking the voltage and output of the battery to ensure compatibility. For guaranteed performance, our SPLB-22 Solar Power Bank is the safest option. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions at 1-888-779-7646 or via https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat we're here to help.

Can I get the game cam to take a picture via the app remotely? ( ie no motion to set off camera but I want a picture )
Hello, thank you for your question and interest in our product. While the Flex G36 doesn't have an on-demand feature to take pictures remotely via the app, it does offer some fantastic modes that can serve as alternatives. You can use Time-Lapse mode to capture images at set intervals, allowing you to monitor an area over time without waiting for motion to trigger the camera. Additionally, Time-Lapse+ takes it a step further by capturing images at those set intervals and also capturing additional photos when motion is detected. This way, you can customize your monitoring experience to get regular updates while still catching those important moments triggered by movement. If you have any more questions or need assistance with the settings, feel free to ask.

Instead, it is an option available exclusively to Insider Club members, allowing them to share their cameras with other Spypoint users without sharing credentials. Does the flex G-36 flash when it takes a picture
Hello, Thank you for your question; The FLEX G-36 uses NIR (Invisible Infrared) LEDs for night photos, so there is no visible flash when it takes a picture at night. During the day, it captures color photos without a flash as well. This makes it great for discreet monitoring, ensuring minimal disturbance to wildlife or your surroundings. If you need more information or help with any settings, feel free to reach out.

My camera just sent the 100th photo for the month, the last one available through my free plan. Will it continue to save photos on the SD card, or is there a setting that I need to adjust?
Hello; Thanks for your question; Even if you’ve reached the limit for photo transfers on your free plan, your camera will continue to capture and save photos on the SD card. The plan only limits the number of images transferred to your app account, not the camera’s ability to record them. If you’re seeing a high number of photos due to false triggers, it might be helpful to check the installation and the condition of the detection lens. Sometimes, moving branches, grass, or reflections can trigger the camera. Adjusting the camera’s placement can help reduce these challenges. You can manually review the photos saved on the SD card and consider upgrading your plan if you need more photo transfers. can i use a cellular camera without a cellular plan? like just using a sd card reader instead of my phone...
Hello, Yes, you can use your SPYPOINT camera without a cellular plan. Each camera comes with 100 free pictures each month that can be sent to your app once activated. Looking at getting the flex g36 and was wondering if i buy the solar panel for it would i still need a lithium battery in the camera as well?
Hello Shawng, Absolutely, if you opt for the Solar Panel for the Flex G36, you won't need any additional removable power sources apart from the rechargeable battery pack specified (LIT22) for this model series. It's important to note that while using the solar panel, we recommend removing any AA batteries but you can leave the LIT22 battery pack in place. This configuration optimizes the longevity of both the primary and backup battery systems, offering reliable power whenever you need it. Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our product. Does the Flex G-36 have a published Ingress Protection (IP) Rating, such as IP65?
Hello tombell513, Yes, the Flex G-36 does have a specified Ingress Protection (IP) rating. Our cameras, including the Flex G-36, typically carry an IP65 rating. This rating ensures the device is completely protected against dust or solid particles, as it is deemed "dust-tight." Moreover, it is safeguarded against water jets, meaning it can withstand water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) from any direction without suffering harmful effects, making it suitable for light exposure such as rain or splashes. When installed correctly, the Flex G-36 and similar devices exhibit water resistance, enhancing their resilience and suitability for various environmental conditions. Thank you for your question, and have a great day.

When the camera detects motion, captures, and sends an image can that image be sent to multiple cellphones?
Hello Chip3, The camera is programmed to send the captured images directly to your account within the app, not to the specific physical cellphones themselves. This means that you can access these images from any device where you've logged in with the same account credentials. Just keep in mind that there's a limit of 10 devices per account, including cellphones and tablets; as long as you're signed into the same account, you'll be able to view the images conveniently across multiple devices. Thank you for your question. Have a pleasant day.

Can the flash be disabled? The camera will go in our front yard and we’d rather not have a flash going off through the night.
Hello Jillz, The Flex G-36 model is equipped with NIR LEDs (invisible infrared light), a technology commonly employed in night-vision cameras and surveillance systems to facilitate imaging in low-light conditions. Consequently, it provides dual-mode functionality for photography: color photos during the day and infrared photos at night. It's important to highlight that NIR LEDs emit light beyond the visible spectrum, making them invisible to the naked eye. Therefore, currently, from the application, we do not have an option to deactivate this since it is configured not to be detectable. Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Hello, Big Daddy Pete, It's great to hear you're considering the Flex G-36 for your setup! Good news: the SPYPOINT Solar Panel you have is compatible with all our models that are equipped with a 12V output including the Flex G-36. I just hung my G-36 camera on a busy trail. I have received 54 pictures in 3 days, but none of them have a full deer. Only pictures of partial deer or nothing at all. How do I speed up the response? Is it on a delay?
Hello Dbo3dy, Thank you for this question. First, the installation conditions play a big role in the capture of your images and the quality of these images. We strongly recommend that the camera be placed so that it can capture the middle of the body or the target you are trying to get pictures of. The recommendation for deer is the height of your belt. We recommend mounting the camera 30 feet (9.14 meters) away from the trigger point and 3–4 feet (about 1 meter) off the ground. Install the unit so that it is parallel to the ground. This improves the detection range and the IR flash coverage as well.
Regarding the options at hand to control these captures from the application, you will find the option "Sensitivity": The camera has a sensor that uses passive infrared, which detects the radiation of heat. The sensitivity settings on the camera (high, medium, or low) determine how large a heat source must be and how far across one of the lines it must pass to trigger the camera. with the option "Delay": You can set the time between each detection before the camera takes the next photo or video, and then you have the option "Multishot." You can set the number of photos per detection (up to 2) with a 5-second delay between each photo. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the installation of the unit and these options, and if you have more questions or wish to be assisted with this, we are here to help: https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat, Have a good day.

I just bought a Flex G36 and discovered Operation Mode does not include a Custom selection, for time of operation scheduling. Are future firmware updates planned to solve this issue?
Hello bap53, The FLEX series was configured differently from the Link Micro series, with functionality and options that differ on the Flex, Flex G36, and Flex S models; however, recognizing the strong preference for a scheduling feature among our Link Micro series users, we are working on redesigning the scheduling feature to make it more intuitive and easier to use. It will be released in an upcoming firmware update. Thank you for your question, and have a great day.
