Great Camera
My father-in-law has a couple of the FLEX-M cameras for monitoring Deer and other wildlife for hunting. So, I was familiar with the brand and its features. I needed something to monitor some unoccupied property remotely after a break-in, and I immediately thought of using the SpyPoint cameras as an option. I decided on the FLEX-S because the built-in solar would mean less having to change batteries. Setup was quick and easy, and firmware update was straightforward. So far, these have been up and running for 10 days, and the solar batteries are still at 100%, so I'm optimistic that they will go a long time between needing to be serviced.

These cameras are so glitchy. I have quite a few and haven't had them a year. Tech support is not super helpful. Definitely go for a different camera and go by reviews. I bought 4. 3 are a different model. This one hasn't worked since I bought it and I honestly didn't have time going through all the trouble shooting with tech support so I gave up. The rest worked for a few months and then 1 by 1 they all quit working. The last one stopped last week. Battery is the rechargeable which does work decently. The status and signal is at 100%, but has stopped transmitting photos.

Worst camera ever
I purchased 2 flex-s cameras, extended batteries, etc…even the upgraded service plan. They are the horrible! Solar doesn’t recharge built-in battery, now burning through extended battery, loses connection, doesn’t take pics or respond. This is not just one but both cameras and to top it off the support sucks. I am returning both. Save your money.

This camera looks good, and works well for 1-2 weeks, then the solar panel or battery fails and will not work. Spypoint sent me a replacement and it failed exactly the same way. They do not refund for this failure, so make sure that you return via amazon within your return window, or better yet, do not purchase in the first place. As with almost all customer support, the chat is nice, but they don't actually solve your problem and they draw out the process for communication as long as they can.

Great when it works!
I’ve owned the Flex S for less than a year now and it’s been a constant struggle to keep it working. The tech support staff seems poorly trained and will tell you to get a new SD card no matter the issue. The software will not update automatically, so I’ve had to bring the camera back to my home to get any assistance. Tech support cannot or will not use any remote applications like Log Me In, etc to assist with updating the camera software when you have technical issues, so unless you’re a highly skilled computer person, I’d look for a better option. I rated the Flex S 2 stars because it is a great camera when it works, which hasn’t been often in my experience.

Solar panel doesn’t charge well
I bought this to replace a microlink S repair destroyed hoping that it would keep up in the battery department and the charging arena with the link micro S… that is not the case.. also has 50% signal strength…. the microlink S had 90%..

Flex s - On demand not reliable
I have been using the flex cameras with a 12volt battery for a few years. Cameras have worked fine but sometimes pictures get sent hours after initial picture was taken. I purchase 2 flex s this year for the on demand feature which has been very unreliable. Probably 1 out of every 3 on demand pic's the camera freezes in processing mode. I can sometimes unfreeze when I reset to factory settings. I talked to customer service numerous times and made all the recomended changes but that didn't fix the problem. I don't even try to take a on demand photo anymore. Not worth the chance of the camera freezing. Disappointed....

HORRIBLE battery life
I got first flex s and installed it. Batteries were dead within a week. Brought it back in and it wouldn't charge. Call support and they said internal battery was bad so they sent me a new camera. Got it charged up, put new aa batteries in and put it back out. Both batteries were dead within 2 weeks. Direct sunlight for at least 6 hrs a day. Doesn't take aver a couple pics a day. Have done this several times with same results. Even tried lithium batteries. When it is "working" it doesn't send pics to app unless it feels like it. Don't receive daily update pic either. Every once in a while it'll send a picture

Love the Solar feature
I actually run 7 spypoint cameras and am an insiders member. $100 a year and 250 pictures per camera up to 10 cameras. Noone can touch that. I love the flex cameras. I have a spot where my micros don't get a signal but my flex is flawless there. Great camera. I do get a missed sinc every great while but it catches right back up. I was able to harvest this buck the first time I physically saw him but had trail pics so I knew he was there. Love love love my spypoints!

Solar panel issue
I purchased camera in solar to save money on battery's, the solar version does not help at all should have got the non solar for cheaper and went ahead and purchased the spypoint rechargeable battery. I contacted spypoint and was told to make sure the solar pa El is facing the south for atleast 3hrs direct sunlight a day. On a full sun day the camera still doesn't charge I'm at a loss of why and have repositioned the camera a few times with no better results in the battery charging solar. Other than that I'm very impressed with the camera and results of photos it has taken in the past 4months of owning it.

Exceptional Camera for Remote Areas
This is now my second Fles-S I've added to my arsenal.
It's features are second to none, built in Lithium battery, charged by it's incorporated solar panel to keep your camera running flawlessly while keeping you updated without having to attend the batteries. The Flex-S also offers On Demand Requested photos, which if you're using bait or a feeder you can instantly see how much is left.

Camera works great but.....
I bought this brand of camera this year after a recommendation from a friend. I like everything about the camera except for they want you to buy a year subscription to be able to use some features. Something as simple as marking a pic you want save should not require a years membership to do. For all the features, I understand, but just to mark a pic I don't think it should be required. I may be different from most guys but I only use the cameras for about 4 months out of the year so I don't need a years membership.
The last camera I used allowed me to mark pictures with just the basic monthly fee. If I wanted an HD photo they would require a 3 cent fee per picture which was reasonable.

Impressive Range!
Loving the solar panel with this camera. Wondering why I didn't ditch batteries long ago. Easy set up as usual. I am using this camera to monitor my farm and specifically my chickens. The solar panel is crucial because the chickens will trip the camera so often, batteries won't make it long. Camera is in the shade half the day and other half it is still partially shaded. Really impressed with the solar panel capability. This camera's sensitivity and range is really nice. It has been able to pick up slight motion through a thicket about 80 yards away. Really glad I added this to my line up.

Link micro are garbage
Had 4 of them they all went down simultaneously. Could not get to work. Changed lithium batteries multiple times. 2 out of the 4 powered and then died.
Stay away from these. You will thank me later. O he and customer service is by far the worst experience I’ve had for a product.

BATTREY DOESN'T LAST!
First one that I had lasted about a month before battery died in middle of an update. Sent back and got free camera. New camera placed with sun directly on it and battery lasted 3 weeks. Solar panel shows 50% charged but battery dropped from 95% to 4% in a few days and now 0%. Not sure what is going on here. I have other SpyPoint Flex-G camera with same battery and they last for months. Flex -S with same Lithium battery only lasts a few weeks. Not happy as I am not near my cameras and cannot troubleshoot quickly!

Great camera
I purchased this camera after a lot of research on which cameras were the best and this one was the best. I love the features that it has and it works flawlessly. The only update to the app I would love to see is a button that would turn off everything except the network and battery percentage so that the solar panel can charge it. Right now you have to go in and manually change all the settings and it takes some time to do it and then go back in and change it back. A slider button in the settings called “charging mode” or something like that would be excellent. Otherwise great camera.

Works great! No more batteries!!!!
Love the solar cameras, I don’t have to worry about batteries anymore. The instant photo transfer is great! I can literally know where the deer are as they pass through my camera when a snapshot is texted to my phone instantly.

Battery life infinite !
I would first like to point out that this camera is by far the best camera I've used in my entire hunting career since cameras were introduced. Flex S has great pictures, awesome videos and the best part, almost infinite battery life! This is the third Flex S I've owned and the other two are still going strong after a year in the field without a battery change or charge! This has changed my way of hunting and the way I scout. There is no human intrusion that might spook a mature buck. I just don't have to go in until I hunt. It's like a first sit every time.. great product hands down!

Works as expected
If you are buying any of the Skypoint Products and you live away from the camera it would be good if you had someone local who could go by and turn it off then back on regularly. Ya see, there isn't a remote function to boot the camera when it stops working, and it does. I've even turned my off then back on, snaps a few pictures then it turns itself off after a time period . Only to find that out after you've driven two hours away. Don't get me wrong, it takes great pictures, when it's actually working.

Great pictures and video, but terrible battery
The camera takes great pictures and video, but the battery technology needs to be improved. My first camera the solar battery did not charge by solar and be dead within 24 hours. Spypoint replaced the camera and this one will charge but needs total sunlite. I have it set to take a picture on detection with 1 hour in between. I also have the LIT-22 rechargeable battery installed and after 3 days of cloudy days the LIT-22 battery is dead and the solar battery is down to 20%. I have 6 Link Micro-S cameras and they stayed charged with barely any sun. It would be a better had design if the solar charger kept the LIT-22 battery charged like it the Link keeps it battery charged. If I by another Flex camera I would get the one without the solar and then by an external 12v external solar power pack.

Terrible Cameras
We bought two of the Flex-S cameras to watch our property in TN from NJ. Installation was easy on one camera, not as easy on the second one. Had to call customer service to get it working. Battery life is OK, and the cameras are OK if you are just looking for movement. We had an issue with someone on our proprty, so I tried taking real-time photos...DON'T bother...it locks the cameras up and then they are completely USELESS!! Won't record movement after they are locked up, and no way to unlock them unless we are in front of them. Spent $500 on 2 cameras, the cases, batteries, and they are USELESS! Oh, not to mention the fee for extra pictures!! Go with a $50 solar powered camera so you can look at things real-time!!

Battery life not good
I have 2 flex-s cameras, not impressed with the solar charger on these 2 cameras. I'm only getting a week to week and a half with these cameras. I've charged them for several days, I've used them with lit-22 batteries and lithium aa batteries and still the cameras don't last very long compared to the felx 36 cameras which seem to last for several months with the lit-22 batteries... so I'm not impressed with the felx-s over the felx 36 cameras....

The BEST Camera!
I have been running this camera for some time now and it has done nothing but outperformed my expectations! It has helped me keep track of deer on my hunting property without the worry of battery changes and going into the areas and leaving scent to check cameras or change batteries. I would recommend this camera to anyone and everyone that uses cell cameras! I will 100% be purchasing some more to add to my cameras to get in the woods this fall!

Love on demand features....but
Love on demand features . picture quality is great.but the videos has fuzziness in them comes and goes throughout the videos...plus it freezes when I do a on-demand status update or picture or video had it happen this morning.

GREAT CAMERA AND EASE OF USE
I purchased this cam about 2 months ago and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have had many cell cams that would lose connection and would have to go into the field to restart. With the FLEX-S I have not even had to change batteries much less touch the cam since I placed it in the field.
Great battery life, ease of use, and the unlimited plan is priced decent.
The only con I have is when zooming in on pictures. It is distorted. I can honestly say this cam was well worth the investment and I am looking to purchase another for my bow blind.

An absolute must have camera
These cameras are the absolute best! I have two of these flex solar cameras from Spypoint and intend on getting more. She. You pair this guy with Spypoints lithium ion battery packs you can leave these guys out in the field for a very long time through the harshest of weather. I have had these up since October of 2023 so far and haven't had to touch it once. It made it through the harsh MN winters and hasn't missed a beat. Absolutely great for placing in remote locations you don't want to visit often to retrieve photos or change batteries.

Love the Solar Panel
I added this camera to my collection of several Spypoint camera's. This is my first one with the built in Solar Panel. This has been such a great feature! The battery percentage has stayed above 90 percent since I have put it in the field. Even with several overcast days. The picture quality is excellent, just as there other camera's. I also love the "on demand" feature it has, which allows you to take pictures or even video at the press of a button from the app! How cool is this? Overall, I have been very pleased with this camera so far.

What is the difference between us and Canadian versions? Ideally I would like a camera that works in both countries, is that possible?
Hello Nick, Each camera comes with a preactive SIM card that is country-specific. The SIM card automatically detects the strongest provider in the area for transmitting. This is why the USA model is designed to work only in the United States, while the Canadian model is tailored for use in Canada.
A single camera is designed for one country due to the differences in carrier networks and coverage.

In addition to pictures and video recordings, can the Flex-S also provide Real Time video? For example, if I want to watch real time - at the moment video without the need to record what I'm currently watching?

While the FLEX-S doesn't stream real-time video, it offers a variety of modes, including Photo, Video, Time-Lapse, and Time-Lapse+, which provide flexibility in capturing the moments that matter most. You can use the 'Instant Mode' and On-Demand Requests feature to get a preview video after making a request through the app. To enable this, you'll need to set the camera to 'Instant Mode' in the settings on the app. Once that's done, you can request a video through the app, and you'll receive a preview. For full HD video, you can download it afterward. In Instant Mode, the camera is optimized to deliver fast responses, so you can request photos or videos on-demand. Additionally, 'Time-Lapse' and 'Time-Lapse+' allow for automatic, scheduled captures over time, perfect for capturing changes in a specific area. While this setup doesn't stream real-time video in the moment, the Instant Mode feature gives you quick access to recent footage.
