How Does Camera Sharing Work?
So, how does camera sharing work? First off, it’s essential to know that camera sharing is available exclusively to members of the Insiders Club. A camera owner must be an Insiders Club member to share their camera, however, guests do not need to be Insiders Club members to accept invitations to share. If you’re not a member, joining is easy and done right inside the SPYPOINT app. Once you’ve joined, here’s how you start sharing your cameras:
• Open the SPYPOINT App: From the profile menu, select “Camera Sharing.”
• Add a New Guest: Enter your guest's name and email address.
• Select the Cameras to Share: Choose which cameras you want to share with them.
• Send the Invite: Your guest will receive an email prompting them to create a free SPYPOINT account if they don’t already have one. Guests do not need to be members of the Insiders Club.
Keeping Your Information Safe
What’s great about this feature is that you don’t need to worry about compromising any sensitive account information to share content. Sharing is done securely through the app, making it a seamless and safe way to keep everyone in the loop.
Guests have limited access to camera data. They see details like the camera model, firmware version, activation date, SD storage, last communication, temperature, signal strength, and battery status. However, they don’t have access to sensitive information such as your account or plan details, the camera location, SIM number, activation code or the identity of other camera guests.
While guests can view the gallery and contribute to the scouting effort, they can’t favorite or delete content, ensuring the primary control remains with you, the camera owner.
