  1. Make sure you have a 2GB to 32GB SD card, class 10 (class is how fast photos are saved to the card). Format your SD card from a computer before using it in your device.
  2. Make sure you have new batteries from the same package. AA batteries should be 1.5 volts. So we suggest you use alkaline or lithium batteries. AA rechargeable batteries, regardless of brand, WILL NOT WORK and MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE. SPYPOINT sells compatible rechargeable lithium battery packs depending on the model you have in hand. If you are installing your product where it is cold, we strongly suggest choosing lithium batteries, as they are more resistant to temperature changes. You can also use a 12 V battery with all our products. This is highly recommended if your device is installed far from your home as its charge lasts longer and is more reliable.
  3. Make sure you choose the best cellular network for the specific location where your device will be installed. If your phone provider works properly where you will be using your device, you can choose the Nationwide (not Verizon) or Verizon model.
  4. Be sure to properly adjust your device settings before traveling to your hunting site. Consult the “How to properly program my product” section. Note that cellular products can be configured remotely if they are able to connect to your application where they are installed.
  5. Make sure you have activated your cellular device with the app. See the “How to activate my cellular product” section.
  6. Make sure you have all accessories included before heading to your hunting site.
  7. Put batteries in your device and make sure it starts and operates properly. In the case of cellular devices, make sure yours transmits photos well before installing it. Check the “How to test my product” section to make sure. Be sure to turn off your device once your tests are complete.
  8. Keep your devices turned off during transport to avoid false detections which will drain your batteries unnecessarily when taking photos.
  9. Bring spare batteries as a precaution.
  10. All SPYPOINT products are pre-programmed with basic settings for general use. If you want to change these settings, be sure to review the following sections: “How to properly program my device” and “How to properly test my device”.
  11. We also offer an explanation of the behavior of our different devices. You can consult the “Product Behaviors” section.
