The SPYPOINT CELL-LINK Can Make Your Non-Cellular Trail Camera a Cellular Device

Innovative SPYPOINT CELL-LINK Technology Continues to Disrupt the Trail Camera Industry

The last year has had more than its fair share of disappointments, but one bright spot is the release of the SPYPOINT CELL-LINK. Never before have we been able to connect a non-cellular trail camera with cell service, but now we can. That means all those non-cellular cameras you already have, can find new life as cellular devices, helping you save time and money making fewer trips to the woods, and leaving less scent where your deer are active.

A Legit Game Changer

The CELL-LINK allows you to turn virtually any non-cellular camera into a cellular device. This is ground-breaking technology, and as hunters, we can leverage it to get the most out of cameras we already have. Or, purchase all-new stuff, but deploy a connected device at a very economical price. Old and new models alike can pair with this device to create a cost-effective cellular camera.

Of course, this connects to an LTE cellular network, and it does come with a preactivated SIM card. Interestingly, this machine offers universal compatibility, but compatible cameras must use a standard SD card. It connects to host cameras through the SD card slot via the SD cable adapter, which plugs into the CELL-LINK. When the host camera takes a photo, the photo is sent to the microSD in the CELL-LINK via the cable, and then into the cloud where they’ll be waiting in the SPYPOINT app after the next scheduled transmission.

When installing, simply route the cable from the camera’s SD card slot to the CELL-LINK device. This cable is designed to be closed in the camera door and still maintain weatherproofness for your camera.

The CELL-LINK uses a micro-SD card (not included) to store and transmit images, and these can have capacities of up to 32 GB. It is compatible with the LIT-10 rechargeable lithium battery pack, but also accepts eight AA batteries.

The CELL-LINK is available in Nationwide or VZN carrier models, just like other SPYPOINT cameras. Remember, target the best service provider for the exact location this camera will be located, and not what the general area is known for or based on your personal cell service provider. If the CELL-LINK is your first cellular trail camera device, it’s critical to know that SPYPOINT photo transmission plans and cameras aren’t connected to your personal plan in any way. So you can run a mix of Nationwide, which connects to virtually all national service providers with the exception of Verizon, or the VZN models.

When setting up, status lights pulse while the unit acquires a signal. A single red light indicates “no signal.” In this instance, try a new location. One red and one orange light mean “fair signal,” and relocation is advised. If at least one green light appears on the status bar, the current location should work just fine, and two or three green lights are even better.

This purchase comes with a CELL-LINK device, adapter cable, SIM card, device strap, and quick-start guide. The device is fully configurable from the SPYPOINT app. That said, you cannot configure a host camera through the CELL-LINK device. Set all non-cellular camera settings independently.

Just as with SPYPOINT cameras, the CELL-LINK can use the industry’s only free transmission plan. You’ll get up to 100 images sent from the CELL-LINK without paying anything. Additional photos can be received by upgrading to one of the paid transmission plans on a monthly or annual basis.

Surpassing Expectations

Comparing this unit to other models, it is an extremely small and compact item. The discrete design allows hunters to place this in the field, and not worry about game seeing a bulky package on the side of a tree.

Even better is that there is no short- or long-term commitment required to use this product. It presents very easy activation, and then it keeps on ticking.

But most of all, being the first of its kind, this small package allows you to upgrade existing cameras instead of replacing them. Waste not. That’s huge.

For those already on board, the SPYPOINT app is extremely user-friendly. It has a very distinguished, yet inviting interface, and activating and managing devices is a breeze. For really serious users, consider the SPYPOINT Insiders Club. It’s loaded with benefits.

Reasons to LINK Up

Product details aside, there are plenty of reasons to deploy a cellular unit, such as the SPYPOINT CELL-LINK. In fact, there are four primary points to go mobile.

First, this reduces the number of trips afield to pull or replace SD cards. This in turn decreases fuel bills and unnecessary time spent on the road and in the timber.

For those using longer-lasting, or external-based power sources, it also decreases or outright voids the need to go afield to replace juice bars. Situation depending, the monthly coverage costs can be significantly lower than what it takes to drive to different properties and replace batteries and cards. After all, data plans are extremely affordable.

This also serves hunters well who have a limited number of days to hunt, or who hunt distant properties. Being able to flip through trail cameras photos today gives you much more confidence for tomorrow’s hunt.

As if cost and time savings aren’t reason enough, a reduction in scouting time is another perk. Why spend more time afield when you can rake in trail camera info with ease? We all know how important that real-time data can be. And the same holds true for applying less pressure to properties by minimizing trips afield to maintain cameras. Let’s face it, deer can’t tell the difference between hunters who are trying to kill them, and those just trying to get a photo. So, pattern that target buck without alerting it to your presence.
