Savor the Hunt: Turkey Kebabs Recipe

Savor the Hunt: Turkey Kebabs Recipe

"As turkey season draws to an end, we are generally over the traditional fried turkey nuggets but we still have meat left to eat. Don’t get me wrong, the nuggets are great but you can get burned out on 'em. This is also when the garden generally starts throwing off good, fresh veggies so let's combine all the things together." - Justin Martin

Ingredients:

• 2 wild turkey breasts

• 1 large bell pepper

• 1 large onion

• 2 yellow squash

• 1 large pack sliced fresh mushrooms

• 1 pound smoked sausage

• ½ cup worcestershire sauce

• ¼ cup pickled jalapeno juice

• Favorite seasoning blend (I prefer a simple SPG - salt, pepper, garlic - rub)

Instructions:

Preheat grill to 350°F.

Slice and cube all vegetables.

Season generously and place vegetables on the grill in a grill safe container to begin
sweating, as they take a little longer to cook than the meat.

Cut the turkey breasts into 1 inch cubes.

Place the cubed turkey in worcestershire sauce and jalapeno juice to marinate (10 minutes or so).

Slice the smoked sausage to desired thickness.

Remove the veggies from the grill.

Alternate placing pieces of meat (turkey and sausage) and veggies on the skewers.

Place the finished skewers on the grill.

Cook until the turkey hits 165°F internal heat (about 14 minutes).

Enjoy!
