Spypoint has knocked another one out of the park. I am running several from the flex dark series and I am amazed at the fact they are not spooking any game. Easy to setup and great battery life with the solar panel. These cams do great in areas where I have little service as well. I will be adding more of these to my fleet.

Huge upgrades in a small package!
So far so good! Love the solar cell cams from Spypoint, and this new Dark series is no exception! With the internal battery I don’t even put AA batteries in, so that’s a huge savings and convenience to not have to worry about running out to change them! This camera is the same setup process and functionality as my other Spypoint cams, and it was quick and easy to add to my app. I always try out my new cell cams in the back yard to make sure they’re working, and the new 40MP HD photos are a huge step up in photo quality over past Flex cams and other cams I’ve tried! My favorite feature, though, has to be the new flexible antenna! Much less worry about those curious critters breaking one off! The option to use the new “No Glow” LED flash is going to be a huge benefit once the hunting season rolls around to keep those deer from spooking and feeling even more pressured! Spypoint listens to the feedback from their customers and truly care to make their products better!

Dark daytime pictures
I received this camera and after charging it, installing it in the woods I received a notification about a firmware update, I accepted it and received another notification telling me it was successful. I received 1 addtional photo after update and camera didn't take another picture. Had to go back to the woods, check the camera and no lights were showing and camera was on. I turned the camera off and on again, the camera started working but received 3 dark pictures. The test picture button on the camera worked and picture was clear. I as well contacted an advisor, and they had no solution for the dark pictures. They tried to do as another person commented on here and ask me to retrieve the camera and go through a series of steps to test the camera, like do an external firmware update and that defeats the purpose of doing the remote firmware update. I received no answer and no direction on why it is sending dark pictures during daylight hours. It isn't all the pictures just an occasional really dark picture.

This camera is a total package. Has everything you need built in. The solar panel keeps it charged so no battery changing every month. It also has the new dark feature that allows you to be totally undetectable at night, and as always it takes great photos and videos.

Terrible battery.
Used the camera for about 4 months and then the battery died. Of course batteries aren't warranted so which makes this camera useless unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars in one- time- use batteries. Don't eat your money on this junk.

The no glow feature is perfect for my skittish bucks.. and my favorite thing is the integrated solar panel. I have this camera placed in a spot with good sunlight and I have no batteries at all in the camera and it runs perfectly!

Great pictures but....
Received this camera as a replacement for a Flex S in late December 2025 Charged it for 24hr then installed it in the field. The camera is paired with a SPLB-22 Lithium solar panel as well as a LIT-22 Lithium battery. The camera and the solar panel get full sun all day. With the SPLB-22 panel this camera should almost run forever as according to the information about the panel states that this panel will run the camera unless it is discharged and the the internal batteries will then run the camera. Unfortunately the internal solar battery will fully discharge within about 7 days. The camera averages 2 pictures a day. I have retrieved the camera half a dozen times and recharged it the results are the same every time as the internal solar battery goes dead in about 7 days. On the status display on the app it shows the 12 Volt panel in use which should mean it is powering the camera and the internal batteries should not be in use or drawing any power. I had a Flex-S running the same solar panel and battery setup fail in a similar manner immediately after updating the firmware??? I also have another Flex-S with the same setup running the factory original firmware and it has been running flawlessly for over a year

Game-Changing Trail Cam — Truly Set It and Forget
I’ve been using the SPYPOINT Flex Solar Dark Cellular Trail Camera for a few months now, and I have to say — it’s hands-down the best trail cam I’ve ever owned.
First off, the image and video quality are incredible. The 40MP photos are razor sharp, and the 1080p video captures every movement with crystal clarity. Whether it's day or night, the images are bright and detailed — no blurry shots here!
What really sets this camera apart is the solar power. I haven’t had to worry about changing batteries at all. SPYPOINT says it can replace up to 1,000 AA batteries, and I believe it. Even with frequent triggers, the solar panel keeps the internal battery charged and ready to go. Huge money and time saver!
The No Glow LEDs are also a big win. They don’t spook the deer, even mature bucks. I’ve captured some of the best night footage ever — totally natural behavior without animals reacting to the camera.
Cellular connectivity is rock-solid, and the app is easy to use. I get notifications and photo previews right on my phone without having to disturb my hunting area.
If you're serious about scouting, conserving energy, and getting high-quality footage without hassle, this camera is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

Hello Krisie, yes, you can use the FLEX‑S‑DARK indoors with a LIT‑22 battery installed. The camera will still operate normally as long as it has power and cellular signal. Just keep in mind that being indoors can sometimes reduce the signal strength depending on the building materials. For video, the FLEX‑S‑DARK records in 1080p with sound. The exact frames‑per‑second (FPS) value is not specified in our documentation, but it is a standard smooth frame rate for 1080p trail‑camera video in this product line.

In theory, this camera should work 24 hours a day with out adding 8-AA batteries or The LIT-22, as either of those are "back up' sources should the built-in solar not be enough. How many hours of direct sunlight does the camera need to function per day?
Hello there. The FLEX-S-DARK integrated solar panel is designed to maintain the charge of the internal battery or to charge it slowly. It becomes effective as soon as sunlight is detected. Under optimal conditions—such as a low-power configuration and a sunny environment—the camera’s internal battery can maintain a consistent charge for up to 11 months. Adding AA batteries, a LIT-22, or a 12V battery is optional, as the camera functions using the internal battery as its primary power source. However, you may want to add a secondary power source in case the solar panel cannot charge the internal battery quickly enough. If the internal battery runs out, the camera will shut down unless a secondary power source is available (e.g., LIT-22, AA batteries, or a 12V battery). If the internal battery becomes depleted, the camera will first default to the 12V battery, then to the LIT-22 or AA batteries installed in the battery tray. Please note that the built-in solar panel does not charge any backup batteries. We recommend fully charging the internal battery using a wall outlet with the supplied 12V DC charging cable and a USB power adapter (sold separately) before outdoor use for optimal performance. Lastly, keep the solar panel clear of any objects or elements that may prevent it from working optimally (e.g., snow). If it is partially covered, it will still function but with reduced efficiency.
